David Gant - Chairman
David Gant has had extensive International and South
African experience in the fields of agriculture, food processing, manufacturing,
property development, sports event promotion and politics. He was formerly
Chairman of Capespan, the sole South African worldwide exporter of the
famous Cape and Outspan products. He has served as Chairman of New Farmers
Development Corporation, an organisation dedicated to the incorporation
of previously disadvantaged South Africans into the mainstream of the country's
agricultural economy.
David was the developer of the renowned Erinvale Country
Estate and Golf Club, home to the World Cup Golf Tournament of 1966 and
the current SA Open Golf championships. As Chairman of Worldsport SA he
has been involved in the promotion and management of various aspects of
South Africa's premier sports
events including World Cup Golf and World Cup Cricket, the prestigious
President's Cup Golf Tournament 2003 and other notable SA horse racing,
golf, sailing and athletic events.
In politics, he was a member of the President's Council
of the Republic of South Africa and served as Chairman of the Democratic
Party, now the official opposition, for five years.
