Neil,
commenting on the 2005 World Record challenge, '2003 saw us complete
an incredibly gruelling record. We have learnt
by our success and my appetite for success grows on what it's fed on.
The weather in 2004 has been just appalling with not a single day's worth
of suitable weather around Britain for our attempt. The Blade Runner
has been tested and tested over the year and is showing some staggering
statistics. I am sure that 2005 will see us with the outright record
time significantly below the current record of just under 31 hours'.
Tony Jenvey, 46, founder and Managing
Director of Hardleys Timber and Building Supplies Ltd. Credited with numerous
race wins since 1988. 1991 saw him runner up in the National and European
Championships before finally 1992 took him to the top, becoming World
Champion. 2002 raced with Hanas Bohinc in the European Endurance race
at Cowes winning in 1 hour 38 minutes with an average speed of 88 mph.
Jeremy Watts, 36, founded the fast
Blade Runner hull concept by incorporating Ice Marine in 1995 to develop
and race boats culminating in him winning the World Championship in 1993.
Jeremy, 'the boat uses the revolutionary and unique Air Entrapment designed
hull, which gives phenomenal aerodynamic lift with superb rough water
capabilities.'
