The Skipper

Manley Hopkinson will be skippering the race yacht. Manley's unique position as Managing Director of Boating Partners (UK) Ltd and as the race yacht skipper will ensure that the maximum benefit to partners will be achieved and give the campaign a winning start on the water. He has been a professional Skipper for many years and successfully led one of the yachts in Sir Chay Blyth's BT Global Challenge 2000 - 2001, known as, 'the World's toughest yacht race'. Racing around the globe the 'wrong way' into the prevailing winds and currents, the identical yachts were crewed by amateurs from all walks of life through the most inhospitable parts of the globe. It was a leadership and management challenge that pushed all the Skippers to the edge, and taught them much. Manley brings this incredible experience and knowledge to this campaign. As an experienced public speaker Manley will be the natural spokesman for the campaign and is well known by the yachting press.
